Some people might think that Azureus has “sold out”. In reality, the entire program is still open source. The new Vuze UI is completely optional. They have not “sold out”. If anything, BitTorrent Mainline has “sold out” by making BitTorrent 6 closed source (5 was open source). By that logic uTorrent has always sold out because it’s closed source for no real reason. uTorrent also literally was sold to BitTorrent inc. The Vuze client can look exactly like the old 2.5 azureus client, and has nothing but improvements. The unused Vuze features aren’t loaded and don’t take extra resources.
